Wyland, the famous environmental/marine life artist who has painted 100 life-size murals all over the world (www.wyland.com), has partnered with Suzzy Czarnecki and Children of the Nations (COTNI.org) to raise money to help fund the Children’s Village in Lira, Uganda. The Children’s Village has a new orphanage and school on its property. This new children’s village is allowing children, not only at the orphanage but surrounding villages who otherwise would not have access to schooling, a chance at a new future through education. Suzzy and her husband were instrumental in building the first buildings on the site, along with supplying fresh water to the area. It is Suzzy’s desire to hand-deliver supplies to the orphanage in July 2011. Your participation in this contest will help fund this project in Lira, Uganda.
ABOUT THE CONTEST:
Children who are currently in grades K-12 may enter Wyland’s Art Contest “Heart for Uganda”.
Art work must be no larger than 10x14”.
Art work may consist of any medium, with a theme focused on nature.
Art work cannot be signed on the front, but must be signed on the back.
Art work will NOT be returned.
Only one entry will be accepted per child
Art Contest entry fee is a tax-deductible donation of $12.00, checks made payable to Children of the Nations
We will be chossing one winner from each grade level, in addition, we will choose six winners via a random drawing, to participate in this special day. Each winner may have on adult accompany while they join Wyland for a Pizza Party at his beachfront home in Laguna Beach on June 7th from 4:00 to 6:00pm. During this time Wyland will do a painting demonstration for the winners. Each winner who attends will receive a signed Wyland poster along with this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Contest entries must be postmarked by May 10, 2011.
Winners will be notified by email before June 1, 2011.
